Transverse optical binding for a dual dipolar dielectric nanoparticle dimer

چکیده
The physical origins of the transverse optical binding force and torque beyond Rayleigh approximation have not been clearly expressed to date. Here, we present analytical expressions for a dual dipolar dielectric dimer illuminated by plane wave propagating perpendicularly axis. Using this model, explore roles hybridized electric dipolar, magnetic electric-magnetic coupling interactions in total on particles. We find significant departures from predictions approximation, particularly high-refractive-index particles, where is dominated interaction. This results an enhancement stability one four orders magnitude compared approximation. For case torque, interaction increases order magnitude. Our will help guide future experimental work

Dielectric properties of dipolar substances
From an investigation of structure it is shown that there exists a large group of dipolar organic solids whose dipoles have two equilibrium positions with opposite dipole direction. To calculate the dielectric properties Onsager’s theory has been extended and developed into a systematic approximation which converges above a critical temperature. To derive the local field acting on a dipole we h...
متن کاملDielectric antennas--a suitable platform for controlling magnetic dipolar emission.
Plasmonic nanoparticles are commonly used to tune and direct the radiation from electric dipolar emitters. Less progress has been made towards understanding complementary systems of magnetic nature. However, it has been recently shown that high-index dielectric spheres can act as effective magnetic antennas. Here we explore the concept of coupling dielectric magnetic antennas with either an ele...

A dual-halo dual-dielectric triple-material cylindrical-gate-all-around/surrounding gate (DH-DD-TM-CGAA/SG) MOSFET has been proposed and an analytical model for the transconductance-to-drain current ratio (TDCR) has been developed. It is verified that incorporation of dual-halo with dual-dielectric and triple-material results in enhancing the device performance in terms of improved TDCR. The ef...

متن کاملMetal and dielectric nanoparticle scattering for improved optical absorption in photovoltaic devices
The influence of electromagnetic scattering by Au and silica nanoparticles placed atop silicon photovoltaic devices on absorption and photocurrent generation has been investigated. The nanoparticles produce substantial increases in power transmission into the semiconductor and consequently photocurrent response from 500 to 1000 nm. Increases in power conversion efficiency under simulated solar ...
